CDC Announces Safety Signals for Pfizer and Moderna COVID-19 Vaccines
The Center for Disease Control (CDC) announced on January 3, 2023, that it has identified hundreds of what they call safety signals for the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines. A safety signal is referred to a condition that “may be linked to the vaccine” such that it requires additional research. Epoch Times filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) after the CDC refused to make public their December 14, 2020, to July 29, 2022, analysis of the VAERS data.
VAERS:
The Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System, or VAERS, is what the CDC and Food and Drug Administration (FDA), together, use to track adverse reactions to vaccines. VAERS reports are typically made by health care professionals when one of their patients experience a reaction. It is described as the “nation’s early warning system.” The CDC apparently did not start analyzing the data until 2022.
Potential Adverse Events:
Adverse reactions being flagged at this time include Bell’s palsy; blood clotting; intermenstrual bleeding; lack of oxygen to the heart; temporary lowered sperm count; myocarditis (heart inflammation) in patients aged 12 to 17 years old; and death (1).
There are also recent reports of a potential increased risk of ischemic stroke of patients over the age of 65 within three weeks of having taking Pfizer COVID-19 bivalent booster. (2). An ischemic stroke is when something, such as a blood clot, blocks flow of oxygen to the brain. This lack of oxygen to the brain can lead to brain damage.
Signs and Symptoms of a Stroke:
Per the CDC website, the signs of a stroke include:
Sudden numbness or weakness of the face, arm, or leg, especially one-sided.
Sudden confusion, trouble speaking, difficulty understanding the person’s speech.
Sudden trouble seeing
Sudden trouble walking, dizziness, loss of balance, or lack of coordination,
Sudden severe headache with unknown cause. (3, 4)
Remember FAST:
F—Face: Ask the person to smile. Does one side of the face droop?
A—Arms: Ask the person to raise both arms. Does one arm drift downward?
S—Speech: Ask the person to repeat a simple phrase. Is the speech slurred or strange?
T—Time: If you see any of these signs, call 9-1-1 right away. (3, 4)
