Liz’s Update: More Bad Bills Planned In Sacramento

California State House

By Liz Froelich, Legislative Co-Chair

The California Federation of Republican Women Zoom March Conference offered a number of bills to consider opposing.  The five legislative analysts each presented three bills involving vaccine issues, immigration, water, homelessness, and firearms.

Consider one or two of the following bills about which you need to call your local assembly member or senator to OPPOSE.  Most are just being heard in the first committee. Our local legislators need to hear from us that these are unacceptable and unconstitutional as public policy as well as detrimental to private businesses, invasion of privacy, and intrusive of family rights. Voicing your opinion and position is not difficult.  You are usually asked for your address.  You do not have to give a reason for your request to have the legislator vote "No". You can use the ideas presented above or your own concerns.

SB 871  Public Health immunizations would require vaccinations for students, with no exemptions, for both public and private schools.  No hearing date yet.

SB 866  Minors Vaccine Consent would allow 12 years and older to be vaccinated without parental consent -Senate Judiciary Committee.  No hearing date yet.

AB1797 Immunization Registry  would develop a database of all Californians who have had Covid vaccinations.  Hearing in Assembly Health Committee April 19.

AB 1766 "California ID for All" would require DMV to issue restricted ID card to almost anyone who can show that he/she has  proof of ID  and resides in California, ignoring their Immigration status. Assembly Judiciary Committee hearing  April 5.
