Twitter File #1: Supplemental More Adam Schiff Ban Requests, and “Deamplifcation”
(Matt Taibbi — January 13, 2023)

In this Supplemental post to Twitter File #1, Mr. Taibbi has found documentation on Twitter that Adam Schiff’s office approached Twitter on a frequent basis to request that various Tweets be removed from the platform. One such tweet was an uncomplimentary altered photo of then candidate Joe Biden that trended as “Sloppy Joe.” This became an issue because Donald Trump retweeted the picture. Twitter, to its credit, refused to take it down because the intent was to be humorous and that “any reasonable observer” could tell that it had been doctored.” However, one of Adam Schiff’s staff members continued to press describing this as a “slippery slope” stating that the real intent was malicious on Donald Trump’s part to damage his opponent. Twitter offered to talk them through the policy.

Schiff’s staff also requested complete suppression of search results of staffer Mr. Misko and other staffers, to which Twitter responded that was not possible.

Schiff’s staff repeatedly complained about and requested Twitter take action on Tweets of “QAnon-related activity” that related to a plethora of topics. Twitter wrote back that those accounts were flagged for deamplification. Deamplification means to shadowban such that a particular tweet or account is not as visible or searchable on Twitter.

This is just another example of how member of the government were censoring Americans.
