Above The Law? No!

By Julie Lynch, Americanism Report

On March 30, 2023 Donald Trump was indicted by a grand jury in Manhattan. His crime? Falsification of business records. Apparently his lawyer Michael Cohen paid $130,000 to an adult film star and the amount was entered on the wrong side of the ledger. Normally an accounting irregularity would be punishable by a fine. But no, DA Alvin Bragg wanted to “get Trump,” as he had promised. It couldn't be prosecuted as a misdemeanor because the statute of limitations expired years ago. Alvin Bragg needed to make it a felony so he suggested that a misdemeanor was committed to conceal an election law violation. The exact violation is still quite vague.

Alvin Bragg’s star witness is Michael Cohen, a disbarred lawyer and convicted felon. Cohen’s lawyer has already produced more than 300 emails contradicting his testimony. Also, both President Trump and Stormy Daniels have denied any sort of affair, Stormy in writing.

Even Democrats have a hard time supporting this weak case, including Senate majority leader Chuck Schumer. Nonetheless, DA Bragg is moving forward with 34 charges. Former federal prosecutor Andy McCarthy says it is a nonsense case which has been inflated to 34 charges in order to overwhelm the jury. “Unscrupulous prosecutors sometimes camouflage with quantity their case’s lack of quality.” This is a classic abuse of power. Why 34? Each one represents a business record that Bragg says was falsified. In other words, one alleged crime, sliced into 34 pieces.

Alvin Bragg famously declared, “No one is above the law.” Nancy Pelosi picked up the refrain, as did many others: No one is above the law!

No one is above the law? Seriously? Are you kidding me? I can think of many people who are above the law.

Dr. Fauci was above the law when he repeatedly lied to Congress, with no repercussions. Eric Holder was above the law when he ignored a Congressional subpoena. When Republican Peter Navarro did the same thing he was arrested, handcuffed, and indicted.

Hillary Clinton is above the law. Didn’t she set up a private email server in her home to hide her slushfund foundation? Didn’t she send and receive classified emails, some marked Top Secret, which were then hacked by hostile powers? When subpoenaed, didn’t she delete 33,000 emails and destroy her hard drive? These are felonies punishable by 10 years in prison.

Her buddy FBI director James Comey is also above the law. He didn’t recommend charges for Hillary because she had no ‘bad intentions.” He then proceeded to sign FISA warrants to spy on Trump, knowing that the evidence to support them was unverified.

What about Bill Clinton? When he perjured himself Democrats excused it all saying, “everyone lies about sex.” Donald Trump, though, is different. We’ve got a story here about sex, however flimsy, so of course this nasty Republican must be indicted.

Nancy Pelosi is above the law. Didn’t she engage in insider trading, something Martha Stewart went to prison for?

Merrick Garland is above the law. Didn’t he weaponize his DOJ against parents at school board meetings? And Lois Lerner - didn’t she send the IRS after conservative organizations?

What about Hunter Biden? He’s WAY above the law. The FBI has had his nefarious laptop since 2019 with no legal repercussions. Hunter, Joe, and the whole family have been in bed with Communist China for years, benefitting handsomely while seriously undermining our national security.

Folks, no one should be above the law but sadly, that isn’t always the case. And regardless of what happens to Trump, the Left won’t stop there. They’ll pick another target, another Republican they can’t control, and try to destroy him.

Have you ever heard the adage that the Democrats play chess and the Republicans play checkers? We fold up and go home, while they keep moving pieces on the board. We tend to lose politely, while they are unwilling to accept even the smallest losses. They meet every rollback with fierce escalation.Obama explained it well when he stated, “They bring a knife to a fight, we bring a gun.” AG Eric Holder said, “when they go low, we kick ‘em.” And true to their word, the left has escalated everything from ballot harvesting, to lawsuits, to protests, to civil disobedience, to riots. They have the power, and they have the funds.

How can we respond? Kyle Shideler, senior analyst for the Center for Security Policy says that we should increase our menu of political options. We need to wield power at local, state, and federal levels. When on a hot streak, we should keep pushing. We should never allow the Left to escalate without political cost. We ourselves can participate in boycotts, peaceful protest, community organizing, lawsuits, and public ridicule.

I think, hopefully, that the Right is getting tired of checkers. In the case of Trump’s indictment, the GOP is stepping up to the plate. Jim Jordan sent letters to Bragg demanding testimony and documents. He also subpoenaed Former prosecutor Mark Pomeranz. When Bragg turned around and sued Jordan, Jordan held hearings in Manhattan to examine Bragg’s pro-crime, anti-victim policies. Kudos to Jim Jordan!

Other lawsuits are materializing. Trump is suing Michael Cohen for $500 million for spreading falsehoods. Judicial Watch is suing the Department of Defense. Job Creators Network sued the Biden administration.. Parents are suing school districts.

The Left has used the judicial system against us for decades. It is definitely time for us to respond in kind. These people just assume that they are above the law. Let’s prove otherwise!

I encourage all concerned Republicans to donate to one of the hard-working legal firms who are defending our freedoms and going on offense. The Democrats have unlimited funds but conservative organizations rely on small donors like us. Some organizations that I recommend are Judicial Watch, The ACLJ (American Center for Law and Justice), the ADF (Alliance Defending Freedom), and America First Legal. I’m sure you know of others. Fellow Americans, let’s play chess!
