CA Districts Being Redrawn Now

California’s boundaries for Congressional, State Senate, State Assembly and StateBoard of Equalization districts will be redrawn this year so that they correctly reflect the state’s population.  This occurs every 10 years after the national census.

The California Citizens Redistricting Commission is requesting your input.  The 14-member commission is made up of five Republicans, five Democrats and four not affiliated with either party. The commission must draw the district lines to confirm with rules designed to create districts of relatively equal population to provide fair representation.

The meeting for Zone C, which includes Contra Costa County, will be held Saturday, July 17 from 10 am to 2 pm.  Details are available at www.wedrawthelines.org .
